Radical Service and Relationship

"...I learned to serve and intentionally live in peoples lives through which I could not just speak the truth of Jesus Christ, but show them through my actions of everyday living. And while these methods of sharing faith all shared the common burden of preaching the Good News of Jesus Christ, it was not recently that I discovered that all Christians are missionaries. In which ever context we are called, whether it be everyday work, relationships with old High School friends, or the call to a foreign country—we are all on mission with a God who is on mission himself."

Jon Keck, writer for Theology 21: Renovating Theology For A New Generation in "How Are We To Spread the Good News? Bible Thumping, Thermometers, and Radical Service", asks himself the question HOW?...How the individual should share the gospel that is. Click on the link above to read the full article as he looks at this question in his own life and consideres WHO the missionaries are through the eyes of Christ.

The joy of the Lord is present in the things you are doing for him and for his children in these dark dark areas that you write about but there is so much joy becuase of peple like you and hearts like your heart Conway. You are definitely a blessing to so so many peple and to me as an encouragement.

  4. Ashley,
It is by grace alone what God has given me booth in capabilities and willingness. I'm glad that you are challenged and encouraged by the previous pictures and posts. It is my prayer that whatever the Lord does in and throuugh me here in Costa Rica, that such could be done anywhere...in my own neighborhood, in my own family...
Thank you for the prayer and support.

  5. Sarah-Joy,
The kids are crazy, encouraging, and a ton of fun to be around. I would strongly encourage you to look into getting involved and serve wherever you live. And perhaps someday God would have you serve with a group or another team locally or innternationally. The best thing is that no matter the location...we still serve the same God and can be used in tremendous ways.

  6. Jim,
Thank you for continuing to follow the posts and updates. There is still much more to come. It's my prayer that I would be obedient to wherever the Lord may have me go and that I would serve in a God glorifying manner no matter the location. It is definitely a unique experience to have had these opportunities in past years to serve in Costa Rica and how awesome it is going to be to here about and tangibly see fruit develop from fruit, and more fruit develop from more fruit. Please continue praying for the ministry as God continues reveal himself.

  7. Conway,

Do you plan to go into to full time missionary work in these dark areas?

  8. Ashley,

That question entails much detail and is one that has been and will continue to obediently be saught after through prayer. As of right now it is my desire to take advantage of opportunities like this 3 month internship and learn from the ministry, witness and expperience how God works as he reveals His character more each day, and understand the importance of disciples making disciples. The "best" thing is this... these "dark areas" that you speak of exist everywhere, not just in Costa Rica. They exist in our own families, our own neighborhoods, our own work places, and our own cities. Because of this it is my desire to learn steadily from the many opportunities I have had to serve in Costa Rica and serve passionately and obediently in any situation the Lord lays before me. If you have any questions I would be more than happy to answer them. Feel free to contact me by email at conway.robinson@yahoo.com. Blessings.
